Greg, I wanted to say thanks for your site and the many guitar tabs I have found in it. I have gotten a lot of lyrics for my own use and wanted to give some feedback on those that I have found with errors and perhaps some new additions in the future. I play in a small C&W band here in Montana and I just finished transcribing Trace Adkins' "Every Light In The House Is On" and when I saw it in your files I noticed many differences from what I had done. We each hear different things in a song so here is my rendition. I have included timing strokes that correspond to the 4/4 time it is written in so the players will know where the beats are in relation to the words and where the chord changes take place. Just a note about the chorus, towards the end trace walks down from a Bb to a G and then ends the last line. If you have heard the song it will be easier to figure out but the notes are Bb-A-G. This is a lovely song and I hope everyone out there enjoys it as much as I do. EVERY LIGHT IN THE HOUSE IS ON Trace Adkins (Intro) Bb - F (Verse One) F / / / I told you I'd leave a light on C / / / In case you ever wanted to come back home Bb / / / F / C - Bb <-(one count each) You smiled and said you appre-ciate - the gesture F / / / I took your every word to heart C / / / ?ause I can't stand us being apart Bb / / / C / / / And just to show how much I really miss ya' (Chorus) F / / / Every light in the house is on C / / / The backyard's bright as the crack of dawn Bb / / / The front walk looks like runway lights F C / It's kinda like noon in the dead of night F / / / Every light in the house is on C / / / Bb / / / Just in case you ever do get tired of being gone G / C / F / / / - - - Every light in the house is on (Verse 2) If I should ever start forgettin' I'll turn the lights off one by one So you can see that I agree, it's over But until then I want you to know If you look south you'll see a glow That's me waitin' at home each night to hold ya' (Chorus) (Repeat Chorus) (End with instrumental tag)
